The VHS holds 3 meetings and a number of other events each year.
Our first meeting for the year is:
Wednesday 21st May 2014
Prahran RSL – 301 High Street – Prahran
7.15pm – 10.30pm
Matthew Bonnett
Matthew Bonnett has been keeping and breeding a variety of goanna species for over 20 years. His experience spans from the pre-internet days when goannas were poorly understood captives and only occasionally kept, through an explosion of popularity as the goanna breeding ‘code was cracked’, to the present day where most monitors species have been successfully reproduced on a regular basis.
This breadth of knowledge led him to collaborate with Grant Husband in writing the monitor chapter for Mike Swan’s ‘Keeping and breeding Australian lizards’, which published an extensive range of monitor husbandry data for the first time.
Matt’s presentation will take the VHS through the gamut of monitor husbandry; covering all of the basics of monitor keeping, while also focussing on a few favourite species and sharing a few tips and theories along the way. It promises to be an informative night for those who prefer their snakes to be smarter and with legs!
So you don’t miss out on this interesting evening, mark it in your diaries now, for WEDNESDAY 21st MAY from 7.15pm to 10.30pm at the Prahran RSL, 301 High Street, Prahran.
