Our next meeting will be held on the 12th of July.
Joining us will be Australian herpetology legend, Neville Burns!
From lecturing at schools, writing books, snake catching, television appearances and more, Neville has done it all.
Neville Burns caught his first venomous snake when he was 8 years old. Now at 73 he is semi-retired from reptile exhibiting but is still living his passion for reptiles.
Nev will be presenting his new expanded edition of his autobiography that has doubled in size and has many more photos. He has been a guest speaker or reptile presenter in every state of Australia and at expos in America and Canada.
He also represented ‘Scales and Tails’ magazine in Hamm, Germany. Other aspects of Nev’s involvement with reptiles include 9 years of lecturing in schools and colleges – he was the first person authorised to take crocodiles to N.S.W. state schools, moving adult saltwater crocodiles to various exhibits, television appearances Live at Five, The Midday Show with Ray Martin, Who Dares Wins, Totally Wild, Morning Show, Simon Townsend’s Wonderworld and others. He has produced educational DVDs and interviewed some of Australia’s best known herpers for Australian reptile magazines.
Come along and hear the story of a reptile mad kid who built an exciting career that will inspire other young herpers. Professor Rick Shine said Nev’s enthusiasm is breathtaking. Signed copies of Nev’s book will be available on the night.
